Pelgrane Press seeks Project Editor

Pelgrane Press, one of the UK’s leading publishers of RPGs, are currently recruiting for a Project Editor to work remotely on their RPG production.

The successful candidate will work with Pelgrane management on the key books on Pelgrane’s growing list of core titles and supplements from conception to delivery. They will be responsible for managing relationships with freelancers, printers and colleagues, exploring marketing opportunities, and for the scheduling, budgeting and quality control of key titles. They will also be involved in art direction and editing, so a good eye for design and excellent attention to detail is essential.

The ideal candidate will have experience of making high-quality illustrated books. It’s more important that they have strong organisational skills and roll high for initiative and can demonstrate outstanding written communication skills and strong design skills. A solid grasp of Word is essential, as is the ability to use Excel. Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop is important, though not vital.

Essential traits for this role are self-motivation, a desire to learn and develop, excellent organisation skills, a keen interest in RPGs, and the ability to set priorities under pressure. Candidates must be able to work effectively remotely, with minimum supervision, and must have access to a work environment that includes adequate hardware, software and internet resources to work remotely.

The position is for an initial six-month contract, with the possibility of an extension for the right candidate. The position is 30 hours per week, and will be starting immediately on recruitment. Pay will be commensurate with skills and experience, but we anticipate a pay range between US$20-22 per hour, with the possibility for a truly phenomenal candidate to earn more. The position doesn’t include health insurance, so if your country of residence doesn’t have universal health care, you will need to have your own health care provision.
