13th Age 2E Errata & Typo Notes

[Crooked Dragon by Lee Moyer]
November 3, 2025

Here are the current corrections in the 2E PDFs. We’re keeping the PDFs up to date with errata and typo corrections. When we do a second printing of the 2E books we’ll fix these in print also.

If you’d like to focus on the corrections that affect gameplay, see pages HH: 94, 142, 148, and 192. There are two corrections that make a difference that might be worth writing into your rulebook or using a sticky note:

  • HH: 148 mistakenly gave the rogue two-weapon fighting competency, which has been deleted out of the current PDF since the rogue is supposed to take the Rogue of Two-Weapons adventurer-tier feat to get that.
  • HH: 192 has errata for the wizard’s curse of greater pain.

Heroes’ Handbook Typos & Errata

Page iii: On the main credits page, there’s a new category added just above the Warriors of the Three: Some Monster Design is the credit line, and the two people who didn’t get the credit they deserved are Steven Warzeha and Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan.

Page iv: We missed an entire helpful playtest group: TSDE (Cody Swenbolt, Ellen Swenbolt, Roman Trevisanut, XZ-L, Anthony “Pao” Vaugh).

Page vii: Capitalize Karim in the backer couple credited as “Karim & Julia O. S.”

Page 94: In the Simple Faith sidebar, the cure wounds spell has to be replaced with mighty healing . . . we swapped those two spells between levels and forgot to update the sidebar.

Page 111: There’s now a period at the end of the italicized fighter flavor text.

Page 142: As a clarification, we’ve added a clause to make it clear that animal companions are never considered staggered. Their hit point threshold isn’t the same as normal hit points, so they’re either in play or have taken enough damage to be driven away temporarily.

Page 143: Towards the end of the epic animal companion feat, the power name “call them in” should be italicized.

Page 148: The rogue’s Weapons chart shouldn’t give them two-weapon fighting. Rogues can get two-weapon fighting by taking the Rogue of Two-Weapons feat on page 154.

Page 150: Another missing period added at the end of the first paragraph of the Rogue Class Features section.

Page 158: The Ok, Teamwork, OK power name is now standardized to use the same capitalization for both instances of OK

Page 160: d8 spear should have an asterisk after spear, like greatsword* in the sorcerer’s 2H melee weapon slot

Page 161: The sorcerer level progression table could lose its final column (Weapon Damage and HP Bonus etc.) to match every other level progression table. Strictly speaking it doesn’t matter, but it’s gone now.

Page 191: The rebuke spell has a parenthetical phrase in its attack line that needs to be removed: (no take 10).

Page 192: Curse of greater pain is the first piece of the book that has actual errata, as written there were unfortunate interactions with magic missile. The text after the words necro damage needs to change, so that it reads like this: “. . . more necro damage every time the target is hit or missed by a natural 6+ attack roll (easy save ends, 6+).”

Page 193: The denial spell also has that leftover parenthetical phrase in its attack line that needs to be removed: (no take 10).

Page 194: Same for the hold foe spell, the piece of the attack line that reads (no take 10) should be removed.

Page 314: Text added to make it clear that the rogue is one of the classes that doesn’t start with two-weapon fighting.

Page 326: In the index (so same problem in GMG), Saves is indexed to page 310, but should link to page 311. It’s the same spread, but now we’ve corrected the linking.

Gamemaster’s Guide Typos

Pages iii, iv, vii: Same corrections as in the Heroes’ Handbook credits.

Page 30: The period of the Dawn Age section is missing; there should be a period after Necropolis.

Page 69: The subscript hit points on the dire rat mook presently say 7, but the right number for that subscript by HP is 8 for a first level mook. The actual hit points stay at 6, we just got the reference number wrong.

Page 232 index (same as the problem in HH): Saves is indexed to page 310, but those rules appear on page 311.
